Tour Duration: 8 Hours /  Start Location: Porto /

Porto is a city located on the west bank of the River Douro in Portugal. It is one of the most important Portuguese commercial and cultural centres. It has a rich history, with its roots dating back to the Middle Ages. Porto has also been a center of trade and commerce for centuries, and has been transformed into a modern and traditional city in the same timeframe. Porto is home to a variety of interesting neighborhoods, including Ribeira, which is known for its narrow alleyways and picturesque population. One of the city's most popular attractions is its Port Wine Cellars.

Clerigos Tower and Lello Bookstore

We will walk through the city center, visiting the Cordoaria Garden, the Victoria District (the last Jewish quarter), the Clerigos Tower, and more than 200 steps with a wonderful view of the city and the river. The Lello Bookstore, which is considered by CNN to be the most beautiful in the world, is located on the staircase. People from all over the world come to visit this bookstore to find books about the Harry Potter universe, as well as to see the city come alive every night.

Porto Center

The city of Oporto is located in the Baixa do Porto district around the Avenida dos Aliados, the city's focal point. Here you can find everything from festivities to strikes, and from the beautiful Oporto City Hall to the "Praça da Liberdade" statue of Pedro IV, the Portuguese king who played a major role in the defense of liberalism. You can also visit Sao Bento station, where 20,000 tiles by the Portuguese artist Jorge Colaço will take you on a journey through Portuguese history and the Douro and Minho traditions. This is a true open book that awaits you to show you the true experiences of this beautiful city.

Porto Cathedral

The Porto Tour 8 hours will take us to the Oporto Cathedral, where we find vestiges of its first Romanesque architecture style. We will also visit the San Francisco Church, built in the 12th century in a Romanesque architecture later transformed into Gothic and later Baroque. We will also visit the Jesse Tree, a polychrome wood sculpture considered one of the best in the world. Finally, we will visit the Bolsa Palace, built in the 19th century in a neoclassical style and classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Majestic Cafe

The Santa Catarina Street is a busy street in the city of Santa Catarina. It is full of national and international shops, and one of the most popular attractions is the Majestic Cafe. This cafe is located in the heart of the city and it tells the history of the city of the twenties, its political intrigues and the debate of ideas. It is known as the "Oporto of 'Belle Epoque'" because it is frequented by many writers and artists.

Gaia

Crossing D. Luiz I Bridge, we will arrive at Gaia, a place where a boat trip of approximately 50 minutes can be a great option for seeing Porto in a different way. We recommend a visit to a Port Wine cellar where the famous port wine is being aged, so that you can take and taste it all over the world.

Serra do Pilar Monastery

Our Porto 8-hour tour couldn't end without visiting the Serra do Pilar Monastery, which is considered by many to be the best view of Porto. The monastery was built in 1538, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The 100 steps that lead up to the dome surrounding the church are an unusual shape.

Day 2. Douro

Tour Duration: 10 Hours /  Start Location: Porto / Included 1h Boat ride & 2 Wine tasting visits

The Alto Douro Wine Region is known for being the oldest wine region in the world. The Douro River used to cut deep valleys in the land, while the shale mountains were transformed by the man who planted the vine. The region has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list in the category of Evolutionary and Live Cultural Landscape.

Amarante

In Amarante, we will visit a well-known saint, Sao Gonçalo de Amarante, and pray there. Then we will go to the historical center of the city to see examples of Romanesque architecture and middle age buildings. Near the Saint Goncalo bridge, we will see some of the most touristy points in Amarante. The weekends in Amarante are especially busy because of Saint Gonçalo celebrations (when young people offer quilhõezinhos de S. Gonçalo to girls they want to conquer).

Peso da Regua

In the Alto Douro wine region, which is located in the world's oldest wine-producing region, the Rabelos boats left centuries ago to transport Port wine barrels to the Gaia pier in Oporto. From there, the wine was shipped to different parts of the world.

Pinhao

There is a beautiful road that goes around the Douro River. It's called the N222. It's one of the best roads in the world. When you get to Pinhao, the town on the river, you'll find a railway station. There are 24 tiles on the roof of the station that represent wine production. Plus, there are restaurants in Pinhao that will give you ideas for lunch.

Optional Boat Ride

You will enjoy a ride on a Rabelo boat along the Douro River. The boat will sail along the river and you can take in the beautiful scenery.

Winery and Tasting

The visit to the winery, where we'll learn about the process of wine production. We'll taste some different wines, and you can all decide on our favorite.

Casal de Loivos viewpoint

Stuning views of mountains and valleys at the Casal de Loivos viewpoint, which was created by humans in harmony with nature.

Mateus Palace

Mateus Palace, a beautiful Baroque palace located in Portugal. This palace is known for its famous Mateus Rose wine, which originated here. The palace is also home to a fantastic garden with fantastical formations and rows of hedges. Additionally, the palace features sculpted statues and a harmonious cypress walkway.

Day 3. Aveiro, Nazaré & Obidos

Tour Duration: 8 Hours /  Start Location: Porto /

Aveiro

Aveiro is a town in Portugal that was founded around its port. The town is named after the birds that lived there, and it used to be known as Aviarium.

The town of Newfoundland was located on a coastline that was good for fishing. This was an important activity from the beginning, and the cod fishing grounds near Newfoundland were discovered by João Afonso, a son of Aveiro.

The salt pans formed, and people started making salt. The salt industry still exists, but not as much as it used to. Another industry is based around the lagoon. People harvest seaweed, and it is used as a natural fertilizer.

Village of fishermen in Nazare

As we continue our day of enjoyment on our Tour Fatima Batalha Nazare and Obidos, we will arrive in the fishing village of Nazare, which is the most charismatic fishing community in Portugal. Here, we can see the fish being dried on every beach in the sun as well as the renowned ladies of the seven skirts, the fishermen's wives who proudly wear seven skirts at once, a distinctive tradition of this area.

The greatest waves in the world can be found in Nazare, Portugal, owing to the Nazare Canyon phenomenon. In 2013, American surfer McNamara set the world record when surfing a wave that was nearly 30 meters high, and throughout the year, we may view these incredible waves for ourselves.

Medieval Village of Obidos

When we arrive at Obidos (a UNESCO World Heritage site), we will take a journey through time to the medieval era and tour the lovely, winding alleyways that are whitewashed.

The important aqueduct and its sources were ordered to be built by Queen Catarina, who also financed most of the Portuguese queens in Portugal by receiving Obidos taxes and leaving great benefits there. Obidos was once a part of the defensive pentagon of the Five Castles, which was built by the Templars and later used as a wedding gift by Portuguese King Dinis I to his wife Queen Isabel.

Here, we'll learn how Obidos "ginja," one of the most well-known and beloved Portuguese liqueurs, is made.

Day 4. Lisbon City

Tour Duration: 8 Hours /  Start Location: Lisbon /

Lisbon is a city that inspires curiosity and a desire to explore all that may be found in every neighborhood and on every street. It's a little yet really interesting city that is secure and welcoming. It's a great area to stay for a few days or as a base for seeing the nation. It is aged. It is current. Without a doubt, it always comes as a surprise.

Alfama,

The Alfama is a traditional and oldest neighborhood in Lisbon composed of winding streets, narrow alleys and steep flights of stairs. Fado is a traditional song from Lisbon that has been classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Alfama is known for its Fado Houses and the Popular Saints' Festival held in Lisbon throughout June.

Praça do Comercio

The main attraction of the traditional trade area is the Praça do Comércio, one of the largest squares in Europe. For many centuries, it was the main entrance to the city of Lisbon. Praça do Comércio is a beautiful and spacious square that overlooks the Tagus River. It's a great place to take a break and enjoy the stunning scenery. This square is full of terraces and restaurants where you can take in the stunning landscape and Lisbon's slower pace. To reach the city center, you must travel through the Arc de Triomphe and walk along Augusta street.

Baixa (Downtown)

The Baixa community is the "heart" of Lisbon. After the devastating earthquake of 1755, Baixa needed to be rebuilt in a neoclassical style with innovative anti-seismic structures. The streets in Portugal are covered in Portuguese pavement, a traditional style of pavement made with small flat pieces of stones arranged in a pattern or image.

Chiado

Álvaro Siza Vieira designed Chiado after a 1988 fire destroyed much of the area. The refurbishment was completed in 2009. The café became a popular place for many intellectuals and artists in the new generation. Chiado has a wide range of shops, both contemporary and traditional, as well as a rich history and culture.

Bairro Alto

One of the most interesting districts of Lisbon, where the coexistence of older and younger people has created a unique atmosphere, is located in the heart of the city. The local businesses reflect the community's character. You'll find small businesses, craft businesses, and tattoo and piercing parlors. Bairro Alto is well-known for its many restaurants, bars, and nightlife. Have fun at night in Lisbon!

Belem

The Portuguese discovery of the New World was based on a beautiful river setting. There are many significant historical monuments here. Here are some of the attractions you can visit in Lisbon: the Belem Tower, the Discoveries Monument, the church of the Jerónimos Monastery, and the world-famous “Pastel de Belém”.

Day 5. Tour Sintra Cascais and Estoril

Tour Duration: 8 Hours /  Start Location: Lisbon / Included tickets to Pena Palace.
Sintra Village Center

It's time to experience Sintra's historic center with its winding streets and quaint lanes. Numerous Portuguese gift shops may be found in the Sintra old district, as well as the Piriquita bakery, home of the world-famous "Travesseiros," a traditional Sintra pastry.

Here we will find more than 10 national monuments, including opulent palaces, ancient ruins, and decorative luxurious homes dispersed by the different hills of the region in very difficult pedestrian paths. Sintra is a place with a great concentration of historical monuments and interesting tourist attractions.

Sintra Palaces

Your Driver will help you choose which palace to visit from Pena Palace, Monserrate Palace, the Masonic Quinta da Regaleira or if you're interested in something more medieval, perhaps the Moorish Castle. However, since this tour lasts about 8 hours, we recommend visiting no more than two palaces because doing so may interfere with seeing the other locations mentioned here.

Cabo da Roca

Then, our Sintra Tour The most significant Portuguese poet of all time, Luis de Camoes, described Cabo da Roca as "where Earth ends and the Sea begins" in "Os Lusiadas" , the westernmost point of the European continent. Cascais and Estoril will take us through the stunning Sintra mountain range to Cascais by Colares, a must stop.

From the majestic Lighthouse, which was constructed in 1772 and stands 165 meters tall, we can see how significant the Atlantic Ocean is and learn about one of Portugal's most famous locations during the height of the country's maritime growth.

Boca do Inferno

A visit to "Boca do Inferno" is a must so that we can fully appreciate the beauty of the location. As a result of the erosion caused by the powerful action of the rain that contains dissolved carbon dioxide, cavities and caves are created inside of the limestone. When the upper layers of the cave collapsed, a large cavity was left behind.

A very beautiful location, where you can enjoy a divine landscape and possibly one of the best sunsets, is only overshadowed by infrequent suicides committed on its perilous and unprotected cliff on days when the sea is agitated. You can see the waves crashing inside the rocks in a cave that combines its natural beauty with the rough sea.

Cascais

Then, on our Tour Sintra Cascais and Estoril, we will arrive in Cascais. With its stunning bay, it is currently a very nice area to live or even for brief holidays. It is full of tiny fishing boats, and we will have time to explore the hamlet.

The Portuguese royal family picked Cascais, which is close to the Sintra mountain range, as their vacation destination in the nineteenth century, ultimately drawing in the nobility. In the city's historic core, there are several shopping and dining options.

Estoril

Estoril, the site of WWII espionage, where Yan Fleming resided, the renowned author of the books that gave rise to 007, where one may be dazzled by the vast estates as well as the Casino of Estoril (considered the largest in Europe).

Day 6. Evora

Tour Duration: 9 Hours /  Start Location: Lisbon / Included Wine tasting Visit

Cork Factory

Our Evora Tour begins with a visit to a traditional cork factory where we will learn about the cork process, check the tree (cork tree), its extraction, the quality of cork, and the preparation to the final product. Portugal is responsible for 55% of the world's cork production, which is now highly valued in decorative coatings for walls and floors, or even in the manufacture of sports goods. However, in many countries, cork is best known for being the raw material for wine stops, because it allows micro-portions of oxygen to stay in contact with wine, so that wine can "age" while maintaining its quality.

cortiçarte

Local Winery

Visit to a winery in the Alentejo region, where we'll have the opportunity to learn about the winery's wine-making process and taste several different wines. Along with this, we'll enjoy local products such as Alentejo bread, sheep's cheese, sausages, fruit compote, and toast with olive oil and oregano.

The Alentejo region is known for producing unique wines, a hot and dry climate, and the use of drip irrigation in the vineyard. It is an essential part of this region's wine-making process that the soils and reliefs be very sunny. This allows for a perfect maturation of the grapes.

If you're interested in visiting another winery, we can arrange that for you. The cost will be your responsibility.

Herdade da Ervideira

Potteries

We will visit the village of Saint Pedro do Corval, where you can find many pottery studios. If you'd like, you can even try your hand at making a piece yourself!

Monsaraz

Monsaraz has been around for a long time and retains its old-fashioned charm. It makes us feel like we are hearing stories through the echo of our footsteps. There are lots of different stories about kings, templar knights, brave people and places.
